Durham Community Preschool offers summer sessions for children ages 6 months to 5 years old. The summer session and summer camp programs all meet Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children bring their own snack, lunch, and drinks. Families can pick and choose which weeks they would like their child(ren) to attend.

Program Descriptions

The Lily Pad Lagoon (infants) is designed for children 6 months to 24 months. In this room, we maintain a caregiver-to-child ratio of 1:4. Parents may choose a combination of one to three mornings per any given week.

Our Tadpole class is for children ages 2 and 3 years old. In this room, we maintain a caregiver-to-child ratio of 1:5. Children must be at least 2 years old by March 1st to attend. Summer session activities include outdoor play and exploration, music, art, and more. Tadpole summer sessions are weekly, and children are enrolled for all three days of the week.

Our Preschool summer camps are for children ages 3 to 5 years old. In these camps, the caregiver-to-child ratio is 1:7. In order to participate, children must be 3 years old by December 1st, potty-trained and have had preschool experience. No exceptions. Children are enrolled for all three days of the week. Registration and Fees

  • Open enrollment for current DCP families begins March 12, 2018.
  • Enrollment for the general public begins March 19, 2018.
  • Upon acceptance, new families will be required to complete and turn in a health form by June 8, 2018. DCP requires all incoming children to be up to date with their immunizations.
  • Payment in full is due at the time of acceptance. When your child’s application is processed, you will receive an email along with an invoice. Our summer spots are pre-paid in full. Please see below for our refund policy.

Additional Forms

We do require all children to be in compliance with the North Carolina Immunization schedule.
Upon acceptance, new families will be required to complete and turn in a health form by June 8, 2018. See our sidebar for a link to the health form. Health forms can be mailed or emailed to the preschool.

  • Please indicate the program and weeks you would like to enroll your child.

    I give my permission for the child care personnel at Durham Community Preschool to secure medical assistance for my child while he/she is attending this program. I understand that efforts will be made to contact me in an emergency, but if I am unavailable, decisions about securing medical assistance will be made by the childcare staff in my absence.

    I understand that care will be given toward the safety and well-being of my child, but in the event of an unavoidable accident, I will hold neither the volunteers nor employees of Durham Community Preschool, nor Calvary United Methodist Church, responsible.
