June 14th – August 12th: In person outdoor summer camp!

June 5th: CLOSED in observance of Independence Day

August 10th – 12th: Duke student volunteers from Project BUILD

August 30th – 1st: Teacher workdays

September 1st: Parent Information Session, 7 pm; parents only

September 2nd & 3rd: 2021-22 Meet the Teacher. Families will sign up for a slot to meet their child’s teacher on the DCP playground before the first day of preschool

September 7th: First full day of preschool!

October 8th: Parent/Teacher conferences

November 11th: OPEN, Veteran’s Day observed, inclement weather day

November 22nd & 23rd: OPEN, inclement weather make-up days

November 24th – 26th: CLOSED, Thanksgiving Holiday

December 20th: CLOSED, Teacher workday

December 20th – 31st: CLOSED, Winter holiday

January 1st: 2022-23 Online Application available for public families and new students. *Note these will be processed the week of February 7th after our currently enrolled families priority period ends.

January 3rd: Classes resume

January 17th: CLOSED in observance of Martin Luther King Jr, Day

January 31st – 4th: Priority enrollment for the 2022-23 school year for currently enrolled families

February 7th: 2022-23 spots open for public families and applications that have been received from January 1st – February 6th.

March 14th: Priority enrollment for Summer 2022 opens for currently enrolled families and accepted 2022-23 families.

March 21st: Summer spots open to the public

March 28th – April 1st: CLOSED, Spring Break

May 3rd: CLOSED, Teacher Workday

May 12th: Parent/Teacher conferences

May 25th: Last day of preschool

May 26th – 27th: Inclement weather make-up days. If we have more than three closures, these will be regular school days to make up a 4th or 5th day of closure.

You’ll notice that we’ve built in inclement weather days into our calendar. We are OPEN for class on these days. If, for some reason, DCP does not have any unplanned closures, these days will be bonus attendance days for our families.  In the event that DCP has unplanned closures for more than these days during the school year, DCP will be unable to add days or give tuition refunds for closures.
