Durham Community Preschool offers summer sessions for children ages 12 months to 5 years old. The summer camp program meets Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will be 100% outdoors. Children bring their own snack, and drinks. Families who choose to summer with us will have a spot for all 9 weeks of summer camp that we offer. *Space is limited!*
For the summer of 2021, we’ll be creating one pod of mixed-age children ages 1 to 5 that meets Monday through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There will be two teachers and 14 children in our summer pod.
We will be entirely outdoors for the three hours of learning, socialization and play. We will continue to do health screenings each day. At our morning drop-off, each child will have their temperature taken, parents will be asked health screening questions and hand washing will be done upon arrival.
During our time together, there will be sensory and art activities, nature walks exploring our campus areas, parking lot play, stories, water play and a planned snack time. To watch a video of what this year has looked like, see our March 2021 YouTube story!

Summer Session Rates
The cost for 9 weeks of summer camp at DCP is $1,035. We’ll be providing a safe, reliable in-person preschool learning experience for a limited amount of families and children. This will continue to keep our teachers safe and our community exposure points low.
There are two payment options.
Option A) Families can make a one-time payment of $1,035 at registration to secure their child’s spot in our summer program.
Option B) At registration, families can pay a $150 deposit to secure their child’s space, followed by three payments of $295 on May 1st, June 1st and July 1st.
If a family decides to travel for one of the summer camp weeks, there will be no refunds as we are holding the space and cannot fill it (due to the Pandemic).
Families that cancel their summer registration by May 1st are eligible to get a full refund minus a $75 processing fee.
Families that cancel their summer registration by June 1st are eligible to get a full refund minus a $150 nonrefundable holding fee.
Cancellations past June 1st are nonrefundable.
We have these policies in place to protect the health of our small, nonprofit preschool. When families change their minds, it impacts our staffing, our supply orders and our ability to fill spots from previously turned away families. If our program is not a good fit for your family, we are happy to recommend some other local programs.
We do require all children to be in compliance with the North Carolina Immunization schedule.
Upon acceptance, new families will be required to complete and turn in a health form by June 4, 2021. See our sidebar for a link to the health form. Health forms can be mailed or emailed to the preschool.
